General Election- 8th June 2017

Have your say in the next General Election and don’t forget to register to vote! What you need to know:

Register to vote before midnight 22nd May 
To register, go to https://www.gov.uk/register-to-vote and complete the online form. If you have never registered, moved house since the last election or cannot remember if you are registered, you will need to fill out the online form, make sure you have your National Insurance number to hand!

Who can vote in the General Election?
If you are 18 and British or Irish citizen, or a citizen of a qualifying Commonwealth country you are eligible to vote.

Applying for a postal vote?
If you’re not sure where you will be on polling day or if you know you are going to be away on holiday, you can register for a postal vote. You must return your postal vote application form by 5:00pm on 23rd May. To apply you can download the form and return it to your local electoral registration office.
