A Deer of Nine Colours
A deer of nine colours lived by the Ganges River. One day, the deer saw a man struggling in the deep water. The flow of the Ganges was fierce and dangerous, but the kind-hearted deer jumped into the water and saved this man. However, this has brought disaster to the deer of nine colours itself……
It is about a magical deer and human beings, a story about kindness and betrayal which was inspired by a mural painting in Mogao Caves, Dunhuang, called ‘Ruru Jataka’.
About Blue
From the moment a mysterious cargo arrived from the East, blue has been the most beguiling colour for artists. From Giotto’s heavenly visions to Titian’s gardens of earthly delight. From the Starry Night of Van Gogh’s troubled soul to the private passions of Edvard Munch’s lovers. From Picasso’s melancholy yearnings to Yves Klein’s ‘open windows to freedom’……This sequential narrative reveals a story about this perfect colour in western art.
