About
Irish artist, Electra Grant, grew up in the wilds of the Tipperary countryside. She and her brother spent hours climbing trees, scrambling through the undergrowth and staking their claim on the little islands in the river below their house. These memories are often the inspiration behind her practice.
From a very early age Electra immersed herself in books and stories, be it the Greek myths she was named after, the Celtic legends of her homeland
or simply diving down the plughole after Shirley.
Electra is a first class honours graduate, with a BA in fine art from Crawford College of Art and Design, in Cork City.
The MA Children’s Literature: Children’s Book Illustration
at Goldsmiths, University of London has been full of unforgettable experiences. With the guidance and encouragement of excellent tutors and classmates, Electra has grown in both skill and confidence. She hopes you have as much fun reading these two picturebooks as she had creating them!
