About
Tiffany is a Hong Kong-Singaporean illustrator, with a background in graphic design. She likes using bright, pastel colours in her work, and draws most of her inspirations from early childhood memories. Tiffany enjoys watching animated movies from Disney, Pixar and Studio Ghibli, where she finds ideas for new projects. She wants to use her art to reflect the colourful adventures of childhood, encouraging children to explore the depths in their vivid imagination. She likes merging the two worlds of graphic design and illustrations together, as she believes that they have the power to enhance each other.
Nya’s Bling Gone Missing
Nya’s Bling Gone Missing is a picture book about the eventful family life within a Peranakan household in post-war Malacca. Done in watercolour and Procreate, with a fun colour palette of pinks and greens, Tiffany wants to reflect the vibrance of childhood and the colourful aspects of Peranakan culture.
Nya’s Bling Gone Missing is a short story written by Melissa Chan and her father, Henry Kim Cheng Chan, featured in their coffee table memoir, Stories of One Malaccan Family. Tiffany Leung then illustrated the story into a picture book, as she believes in having more Peranakan narratives and characters represented in children’s picture books.
The Climb
The Climb is a wordless sequential narrative depicting a young child doing whatever it takes to get a pair of sneakers, even if it means scaling great heights! The story’s narrative is inspired by Tiffany’s childhood memories of climbing shelves and cupboards to reach for items she was curious about. It reflects the adventurous and tenacious nature of young children; when they set their sights on something they are out to get them!
The narrative is done in watercolour with some images done as cut outs and collaged onto the page.
