Assessments are being adjusted and adapted to suit the needs posed by distance-learning.  

Note: Most of these dates remain the same, but the submissions are moving to mainly digital formats uploaded remotely.  

DS50001A What is design? 

Studio Project 04 Major Project – 09 weeks (plus Easter break) 

Briefing: 3 March 2020  

Format: Video of presentation of models, prototypes, digital images of sketchbooks & PDF report  (including images and a 1000 word written design report)  submitted for summative assessment. This no longer requires studio exhibition Learn.gold submission only.

Deadline: 26 May 2020, 10am uploaded to Learn.gold (VLE). 

DS50002A Making Drawings Making Things 

Making Things Folio  

Format: Submission of a Digital PDF portfolio (minimum 12 x double A4 spreads,  including images and 1000 words of written reflection dispersed throughout) submitted for formative assessment. 

First deadline: 28 April 2020, 10am uploaded to Learn.gold (VLE). 

Re-submitted, with improvements where advised in Skype tutorials and written feedback, provided within 2 weeks of submission, for final Summative assessment: 

Final deadline: 26 May 2020 uploaded to Learn.gold (VLE). 

DS50003A ‘Sketchbook and Reflective Journal’  

Assessed formatively at all points of submission as an integral part of the other courses, then summatively within the final end of year submission:

DS50004A Introduction To Digital Manufacturing  

Format: Submission of a Digital PDF portfolio (minimum 12 x double A4 spreads, including images and 1000 words of written reflection dispersed throughout).

(Formative assessment is delivered in the weeks prior to this via Skype tutorials or written feedback).

Deadline: 26 May 2020, 10am uploaded to Learn.gold (VLE)
