Dear BA Design student,

First off, congratulations for making it through the Summer term after the huge and rapid change that everyone faced back in March. The standard of work and the level of engagement from you all have been amazing and we hope you all feel justifiably proud of yourselves. We also want to thank you for your patience as we adapted both our systems and our way of working to try and support you at this time.

A some of you will know, the undergraduate Exam Board took place at the end of last week. This is the formal mechanism that finalises your assessment results for the year, confirms that you’re ready to move on the next year of study or if you have assignments to complete for late August, and confirms the awards for graduating 3rd year students. Whichever situation applies to you, again our congratulations for getting to this point and let us know if you need further support.

Results will be published by the College Assessments Team, hopefully by the end of this week. As most of the processes have had to be amended this year we’re afraid we can’t give you a specific date but you should receive a notification directly from the College when your transcript is released. We will also try to send you a timely notification from the department.

Once results are released we will send deferred assessment and resit information from the department. This will be personalised so keep an eye out for an email from Design Studies (design@gold.ac.uk) rather than from learn.gold. If you already know that you have an assignment to submit in August you can get generic information here (no password needed) or here (learn.gold sign in required).

Most importantly, now’s the time to take a break, even if it’s a short one. We look forward to seeing those of you who are progressing to the 2nd and 3rd once on-campus activity can start up again and we hope that those of you who are graduating are able to come back and say ‘Hello’ in the not-too-distant future.

Please do check up occasionally on what is happening at Goldsmiths via the website, Facebook, Twitter and learn.gold. The Design Office is open (virtually) over the Summer, so please do contact us if you have any questions.

Last but not least, we wish you a great summer, whatever it brings.

All the very best

Emma, Chris, Jack, and Lucy
