Short update about how our department is returning to campus

Dear Design students,

This is a short update about how our department is returning to campus in light of the roadmap out of lockdown. You should have received a message from college, as the Government is allowing practice-based subjects to return after Easter to allow some face to face activities to start; although many of our sessions will still be online as planned,  our studios and facilities will be open for your use. Your dedicated tutors will be in touch to keep you up to date on individual module and project plans, and please ask them if you are unsure of anything.  From now, for three weeks until the end of this spring term, we will also be continuing our current studio access booking system that is already in place; however, we will be monitoring its use to ensure there are enough studio spaces available for the demand.

The Labs Team will also be contacting you with more information about access arrangements before and after the Easter break. If you need to contact the Labs team please email designfabricationworkshops@gold.ac.uk

Whilst we are aware that some of you are unable to return to campus for a wide range of reasons, we will continue to support your remote study, so please don’t worry if you can’t return as we are here to help you. The Design Admin team will also be in touch in the coming weeks to find out what you are planning to do so we can understand your individual needs, and best support your studies.

Arrangements for testing for those who are accessing campus remains the same as previously. If you are traveling within the UK, you are advised to access local asymptomatic testing if available in your local area prior to traveling. If you are traveling from outside of the UK there will be different requirements depending on where you are traveling from or through. You can find the most up to date information on the college website at:   https://www.gold.ac.uk/staff-students/info/coronavirus/term/
