In partnership with iniva and Camden Art Centre
Deadline: 16 April 2025, 11:59pm.
The Exhibitions Hub is pleased to launch its fourth Alumni Commission Award, in partnership with the Institute of International Visual Arts (iniva) and Camden Art Centre. The commission invites Department of Art alumni to develop new work in response to or inspired by iniva’s library and archive that will be presented at Camden Art Centre in December 2025.
The Outcome
Following 6 months of research with iniva’s archive, the selected artist will develop new work to be presented as part of Camden Art Centre’s Public Programme in December 2025. Artists can work with any media, but the work should be designed for a live environment. The outcome is intentionally open to allow for creative experimentation and interdisciplinary approaches.
The selected artist would be invited to present two performances on the 6th and 7th of December in Gallery 3. Applicants are encouraged to look through the breadth of past live events at Camden Art Centre.
The selected artist will receive:
- £1500 artist fee
- £500 production budget
- £500 presentation budget
Mentorship
Beatriz Lobo, Curator at iniva and Dr. Matt Williams, Curator of Public Programmes and Academic Partnerships at Camden Art Centre will provide individual mentorships to guide and support the successful artist during the development of the project. (3×1 hour sessions from each mentor).
Curator of the Exhibitions Hub: Fran Painter-Fleming, and Director of the Exhibitions Hub: Nick Grimmer will also be providing mentorship throughout the commission.
