2020 GFF Edition — Short-term Sister

Only pale memories remain of Philipp’s sister, Vanessa. The 2-year old girl was adopted and embraced, only to be returned 2 years later, leaving behind a family plagued by resentment, blame, and divorce.
20 years later, Philipp aims to track down Vanessa and confront his family with the hope of unveiling swallowed secrets and healing untended wounds.

German-born Philipp is a documentary filmmaker whose previous feature “Jordan – Country of Refugees” has been screened in cinemas across Germany and was nominated for two festival accolades. Educated in Journalism and Documentary Filmmaking, Philipp has worked for TV broadcast channels (Euronews, ARD), whilst always devoted to his passion as an investigative filmmaker.
