Goldsmiths alumna represents PixelPin at 10 Downing Street

Georgia Steele Matthews (BA English and Drama, 2014) is the Head of International Sales at PixelPin, a tech company that was selected to attend a Roundtable at Number 10 Downing Street. Georgia was one of two women in attendance representing the company.

Georgia joined the conversation where the group discussed the opportunities for the UK tech sector to export to and expand in Asia and some of the challenges they face such as protecting IP and paying expensive visa fees to recruit developers and staff.

Key government attendees included Baroness Rona Fairhead, Minister of State for Trade and Export Promotion; Natalie Black, Deputy Director, Policy Unit, Prime Minister’s Office; Rt. Hon Matt Hancock, Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport. Representatives from other tech companies, including MUBI founder Efe Cakarel, Sondrel CEO Graham Curren, Amuzo Games MD Mike Hawkyard and Chief Commercial Officer for Technology and Smart Cities Keith Grant, were also present.

Georgia, who at 24 years old was the youngest at the meeting, spoke about PixelPin’s global projects with Accenture and how, together with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, they plan to open a Tokyo office in 2018.
