Rijeka, the third largest city in Croatia, located in the Kvarner Bay, on the coast of Adriatic sea, will be the cultural capital of Europe in 2020. Rijeka2020 decided to organize Classroom – a continuous education programme for the arts managers in the city and engage them with some of the most experienced practitioners and established academics in the field from across Europe.

Dr Aleksandar Brkic, Lecturer at ICCE, contributed to two sessions, on 28-30th September (“Production in Culture”) and 26-28th of October 2018 (“Events Management”).

The goal of the programme is to raise the capacity of the arts managers in the city and connect them better to the new and innovative practices in the field. The organizers are hoping that the initiatives and connections that are initiated through this education programme will sustain beyond the cultural capital project, and will influence the cultural and wider social life of the city in the years to come.
