Pioneers and Protest: A commemorative quilt

During the initial screening of Pioneers and Protest at the Moonshot centre, as part of Moonshot’s Community Day, on July 9 2022. Participants were asked to contribute a memory of 1981 on canvas squares.

The images produced on the squares were emotional and inspirational, and IRIE! thought about how they would display them. Local craft artist Gloria Pottinger-Jones who was working with IRIE! on the Community Day suggested a quilt, which she designed and created for them several weeks later.
