Event Name: Eat Around the World – Food festival
Attendees: 6040
Summary: Eat Around the world food festival was held on the green in Camberwell. There were various stalls with different food stalls reflective of different communities in the borough. There was live music, a couple of bars and various workshops for families and children to take part in. it was very well attended, and the weather was nice too. The Micro-grant from Creative high street helped with paying for some of the marketing and student consultant from Goldsmiths helped to organise and plan the even.
“Urban Farmers’ Market Ltd is incredible grateful for all the support Pina provided [Goldmsiths’ student assistant] with facilitating the grant received from Goldsmiths, which went towards putting on a very successful Food Festival.
Our initial meeting in February on Camberwell Green when we shared ideas of how funding from The ‘Creative High Street Programme’ could impact Camberwell in a positive way.
Pina was very supportive when the idea of a ‘Food Festival’ was suggested and her enthusiasm and advise was invaluable – particularly ensuring this was a community event for everyone.
The event attracted over 6000 visitors bringing significant footfall onto the high street, giving a much-needed boost to local businesses. We hope that a similar event can be repeated next year with the possibility of this being an annual event on Camberwell Green.
We are very grateful to Pina for all her advice and support and encouragement to apply for funding from Goldsmith which contributed towards putting on a very successful event – a first of this kind on Camberwell Green, which was very well received by everyone who participated and visited.”
