The Sorrows of Mexico/Lydia Cacho & Anabel Hernández/Cambridge/25 May, 2017

Lydia Cacho and Anabel Hernández, co-authors of The Sorrows of Mexico: An Indictment of Their Country’s Failings by Seven Exceptional Writers (MacLehose Press) will be speaking in Cambridge on THURSDAY 25 MAY, 5.30PM. Alison Richard Building, 7 West Road, Cambridge, CB3 9DT

The other authors, are Sergio González Rodríguez, Diego Enrique Osorno, Emiliano Ruiz Parra, Marcela Turati and Juan Villoro.

Elena Poniatowska contributes a preface and Felipe Restrepo Pombo (editor of Gatopardo) an introduction.

Article 19 Mexico and Central America contribute a ‘Register of Journalists, Broadcasters and Photographers Murdered in Mexico since 2000’.

This event has been organized in collaboration with MacLehose Press and the writers will also be appearing at Birkbeck College, London (22nd May), the Frontline Club, London (23rd), Warwick University (24th), Norwich and Norfolk Festival (26th), Bristol Festival of Ideas (27th) and Hay Festival (28th).
