You may have seen a story circulating on Twitter about an incident that happened at the library. We can’t say too much because of the police involvement and to protect those involved, however we wanted to share as much as we can with you:
There was an incident at the library late last night which involved a library user and a security contractor who was on duty overnight. In response to the individual’s behaviour, the contractor felt it appropriate to call the police, who subsequently made an arrest.
The matter is now with the police. We are in discussion with the security contractor in relation to the incident. We open our library 24 hours a day and this kind of thing happens very rarely.
