Working with clients and the learning on the course have had parallel processes. In common with my own experiences, my client work with adolescents brought difficulties with self-expression, fitting in within the institution, and themes from the wider world.

How are you feeling today?

Exploring externalising the internal. Noticing the fear that saying the ‘wrong’ thing brings. How silencing this can be and the damage that internalising feelings causes to the body and mind.

The end?

The end? is an acknowledgement of my own difficulties with endings. This artwork embraces the extraordinary ending of the course, together with another significant ending for me of a life in the West Country. Reading about endings highlighted to me that endings are inextricably linked to beginnings. The future uncertain, I’m wondering what my beginning in the South East in a post covid-19 world will look like.

This is for every politician whose incompetency has cost the lives of citizens. Not only addressing decisions taken during the pandemic, but also for a decade of austerity that has robbed so many of a future.
