Artist Statement:

Inspired by client work where they expressed a need to consume their feelings, Trauma Cake explores this metaphor. The perfect chocolate cake is cut into, revealing rough and messy layers . Tangled yarn spills out , much like how trauma can be muddled and confusing. The candles represent defence mechanisms which when burnt, can lead to trauma surfacing
