Sunspeak is a solar powered communication system built from salvagd and repurposed electronics, powered by batteries recycled from disposable vaporisers. It is an ecological response to the technological nihilism of society, a low power means to take technology with us into the future that prioritises community and cooperation. About Thomas Rosser

Thomas Rosser (aka subsignal) explores computational ecology to design creative tools that can enact social change through making, play and collective performance. Working within a Solarpunk and perma-computing framework, Thomas constructs human computer interactions using network communication protocols and salvaged materials to synthesise new tools and instruments that belong in the new worlds his work evokes. With research rooted in anarchist organisational structure and social theory, Thomas’ work takes on a political dimension that tends towards participation and decentralisation, calling for direct action and collective empowerment. Thomas has performed and shown work at Iklectik Art Lab, Brainchild Festival, the BFI, Raindance Film Festival and many local underground music events. Earlier this year, Thomas took part in Delta Functions, a group residency as part of THIN AIR at The Beams in Silvertown.
