Some works centered on VR digital empathy seek to understand them by being present and owning their bodies, so as to achieve “superficial” empathy. This project metaphorically points out that recreating a scene does not mean recreating suffering. The experience of the victims have less connection with environment, and more importantly, the sense of reality of intensive experience or the crisis of life-threatening. The discrepancy between appearance and real experience only pushes the emotion toward self-righteous empathy or more non-objective and complex feelings.
