About Xinyu Zhang
I am a graduate computer arts student and my undergraduate degree is in digital media arts. I am interested in the intersection of interaction design and performance studies. Currently, the staging of the same space and the same performer can change depending on the audience. Stage directors often attempt to eliminate these differences and shape the aesthetics with technology. However, I believe they are the drivers of an evolving stage that enlivens beauty. My main artistic endeavours take the form of interactive or immersive art forms such as interactive installations, audio-visual and interactive performances. I will continue to explore the ecology of performance, experimenting with interactive technologies to break down the creative constraints of traditional performance, enhance the dialogue between performer and audience, and construct more vivid performances.
