Professor Gina Higginbottom
Professor Gina Marie Awoko Higginbottom MBE, BA (Hons), MA, Postgradip, PhD, RN, RM, RHV is Emeritus Professor, School of Health Sciences, University of Nottingham and Co-Convener for the International Collaboration for Health Nursing Research (ICCHNR).
Professor Higginbottom works in ethnicity and health with a strong focus on international migration and maternity in the UK and Canada.
In Canada she held a Canada Research Chair in ethnicity and health at the University of Alberta.
Her teaching is focused on research methodologies and she has supervised many PhD students and post-doctoral fellows, four of whom are now professors themselves in Sweden, Pakistan and South Africa.
In 1998 she was awarded the MBE for services to young people and health promotion.
