Biography

Anna Stewart is currently completing a part-time psychology MRes alongside a Research assistant role in ICCE (Institute of Creative and Cultural Entrepreneurship). She completed her Bsc in Psychology and Cognitive Neuroscience at Goldsmiths in 2018. Her undergraduate thesis focused on whether watching ASMR (Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response) videos – (designed to elicit a calming, pleasant psycho-physiological tingling response usually originating in the head) – could improve sleep-quality and quantity in the general population. This study is currently being developed and expanded further with other members of the Sleep Lab.
Her current research focuses on the benefits of virtual nature on wellbeing and cognition, taking into account individual differences. This research has led to collaborations with commercial and community-based projects.
With a broad interest in the arts and neuroscience, Anna is interested in engaging and bringing together cross-disciplinary, mixed methods research with a focus on health and social well-being, sleep and altered states.
