Biography

Betul Rauf is a PhD student here at Goldsmiths. After completing a BSc in Psychology at the University of Essex, she went on to study an MSc in Health Psychology at King’s College London which she completed in 2020. Shortly after, Betul was awarded a full-time PhD studentship, supervised by Prof Alice Gregory, Prof Chris French and Dr Rotem Perach. Her PhD is focused on the associations between different sleep variables (e.g., exploding head syndrome, sleep paralysis, REM sleep behaviour disorders) and ostensibly paranormal experiences/beliefs (near-death experiences, out-of-body experiences and so on).
