The first Protect Project training event focused on issues of community, youth and exclusion that often overlap with child sexual exploitation – such as drugs, violence and criminal exploitation.
From this event, we have developed materials that can be used with youth workers and young people to explore these issues. In the following sections, you will find presentations used in the event as well as materials developed by participants including videos, newspaper stories and scenarios. The stories in these materials are all fictional but are based on youth workers’ learning in the training and their understanding of the issues from their work with young people. The materials could be used to stimulate discussion and activities with other youth workers and young people – or as examples in activities that facilitate youth workers or young people to develop their own videos, newspaper stories and scenarios based on their lived experiences of the issues.
