Amanda grew up with a passion for both art and languages. Her first journey was to study Japanese Language and Culture and worked as a translator for around 2 years. Art lured her back in 2017 to follow the illustration path after the unexpected loss of her mother due to depression. She now is an illustrator mostly geared towards kidlit books and other related media. All her illustrations are drawn in Adobe Photoshop. She loves creating cute and wholesome illustrations and making children smile. When she’s not drawing, she enjoys cooking, baking, travelling, and reading books.
The Night Ride
The original version of The Night Ride was published in 1973, written by Aingelda Ardizzone, illustrated by Edward Ardizzone. The story unfolds around three unwanted dolls lying forgotten in the cupboard. After being thrown into the trash bin by the original owner, the three of them fled bravely and found an abandoned old toy engine that could get on the road. They all had a good time traveling throughout many places with the old toy engine, but when the sun set, they felt extremely lonely and isolated in the cold Christmas night. Fortunately, they happened to cross paths with a little girl when they stopped at a train intersection. Seeing the three brave dolls outside her home, the little girl rushed outside in surprise. She then took the dolls into a room filled with Christmas decorations. They were very much appreciated by the little girl and together they spent a joyful Christmas. There is no better gift for them than this, as well as for the little girl.
Growing Up Together
Amanda was inspired by how her partner grew up together with his family dog Snoopy. This sequential narrative reveals the unique bond between the two of them. This story is something everyone can relate to as one enjoys the company of their furry friends.
