Alumna Jacquie Binns (BA Textiles, 1986) was commissioned by Leicester Cathedral to design an embroidered funeral pall for the reinterment of King Richard III. On Sunday 22 March 2015, the funeral pall was revealed at a reception service for the monarch at Leicester Cathedral. Alumna wins 2015 Susan Smith Blackburn Prize

Alumna Tena Štivičić (MA Writing for Performance, 2004) has won the 2015 Susan Smith Blackburn Prize for her play, 3 Winters. The Susan Smith Blackburn Prize is the oldest and largest prize awarded to women playwrights.
