A Case Study on Emergency Exit Arts’ Experience with the Inspire Lewisham Programme

Emergency Exit Arts (EEA) engaged with Inspire Lewisham by offering a work placement and attending a workshop on inclusive recruitment. The support from the Inspire Lewisham team and the positive experience of hosting a placement were key in changing the company’s hiring methods.

During this time, the company learned a lot about hiring processes. The advice from the Inspire Lewisham team and the work of the placement participants really helped improve how the organisation operates and its understanding of hiring. As a result they successfully developed a marketing strategy and implemented a social media schedule which helped keep existing customers up to date on what the organisation is delivering over the calendar year and this also helped generate interest from new customers. Additionally their engagement with EEA went up and it also helped diversity their community reach.

Looking back, the company felt that the time for the placement should have been longer. They found the experience very valuable and wished for more time to get the most out of it. However, the company is still very thankful for the hard work and strong support from the Inspire Lewisham team. The feedback and experience of the organisation shows that there could be even more benefits from longer work placements and ongoing partnerships in the future.
