Artist Statement:

During my 3 years on the MA Art Psychotherapy course, I have held onto personal notes, drawings and images that seemed relevant to my therapeutic process. Once my 8-month placement at an NHS Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) came to an end, and I handed in my written assignments to qualify and register as an Art Psychotherapist; I finally felt able to take a PAUSE and reflect on my artwork.
This book captures the messy, uncomfortable, and unfinished thoughts that I have grappled with throughout the course. The paintings were made during my own 1:1 art therapy and in university experiential groups; highlighting themes around fear, inadequacy and isolation.
