Gem-Zine Magazine – “Big Sister Energy.”

Gem-Zine is a magazine for teenage girls, created as a part of the current final-year journalism practice module, that aims to promote self-love and acceptance for their young, female audience. Gem-Zine cover topics such as identity, equipping for the future, beauty, self-care, and sex and relationships.

From a big sisterly perspective, Gem-Zine says “we know how hard and confusing navigating these teenage years can be, with the stress of school life, navigating new relationships with friends and partners, and dealing with a lack of independent living in the family home. So trust us in holding your hand and helping you through it!”

Gem-Zine‘s team comprises of editor, Ellen Watson, sub-editor, Saskia Capetti, web designer, Holly Went, social media manager, Beth Howe, video editor, Manon Coales and sub-editor/illustrator, Clara Bowden.

Listening to the BBC Sounds ‘Pregnant Teens’ podcast as I got ready in the morning, the main interviewees, Nicole, Meghan, and Robyn were talking about being young mums and the difficulties of getting pregnant as a teenager.
