Alumni Commission Award 2024

In partnership with the Live Art Development Agency (LADA) and Forma

Deadline: 3 April 2024, 11:59pm.

The Exhibitions Hub is pleased to launch its third Alumni Commission Award, in partnership with the Live Art Development Agency (LADA) and Forma. The commission invites Department of Art Alumni to develop new work in response to or inspired by LADA’s archive that will be presented at Forma in November 2024.

The Outcome

Following a period of research and development with LADA’s archive, the selected artist will develop new performance work to be presented at Forma in November 2024. We are interested in expanded ideas of performance, the outcome is intentionally open to allow for creative experimentation and engagement approaches.

The selected artist will receive:

  • £1500 artist fee
  • £500 production budget
  • £500 presentation budget

Mentorship

Members of staff from LADA and Forma will provide individual mentorships to guide and support the successful artist during the development of the project. (3 x 1HR sessions from each organisation). LADA’s team all specialise in varying areas of live art, so mentors can be selected to align with the successful artist’s project. Curator of the Exhibitions Hub: Fran Painter-Fleming, and Director of the Exhibitions Hub: Nick Grimmer, will also be providing mentorship throughout the commission.

The Exhibitions Hub will support the organisation and curation of the public-facing presentation of the project outcome at Forma.
