The Exhibitions Hub develops partnerships and curatorial initiatives to connect research and practice at Goldsmiths with external venues and audiences. Aiming to champion critically engaging and experimental exchanges, we’ve partnered with diverse organisations such as archives and music festivals to foster exciting opportunities for our students and alumni — broadening the scope of traditional commissions.
In 2020, we launched the inaugural Alumni Commission Award, where we partner with an archive and an exhibition space to commission a Goldsmiths alumnus to produce a new body of work. The recipient also receives mentoring from members of each organisation throughout the commission before the work is presented to the public.
Alongside the long-form Alumni Commission Award, we also work with independent project spaces and more established galleries to develop rolling exhibition and event opportunities for current students and alumni. These satellite programmes aim to reach and engage new and diverse audiences with the work of Goldsmiths students.
