A spokesperson for Goldsmiths, University of London said:

“We’re thoroughly investigating this incident as we always would with anything of this nature. The investigation is being led by a senior member of Goldsmiths staff and in partnership with the Students’ Union.

“We are in contact with the student and we have offered appropriate support. We have also been in discussions with our security contractor CIS and will work with them to address any issues that come to light during our investigation.

“Our priority is always the welfare of students. This means that we have to provide the very best supportive environment while keeping students safe.”
